Terms of business
Last updated 16 August 2026.
These are the standard terms for work carried out by TaskWise AI, a trading name of Jake McSpirit. Anything agreed in writing for a specific job takes precedence over what is here.
The audit
- The audit is £450, payable before it starts.
- You receive a written report naming up to three jobs worth automating, each with an estimate of time saved and a fixed price to build it.
- The report is yours to keep and act on however you like, including taking it to somebody else.
- If you commission a build within three months, the £450 is deducted from the price.
- If nothing in the business is worth automating, the report will say so. The fee still covers the work of finding that out.
Builds
- Every build is quoted at a fixed price against a written scope, together with the number of days it is expected to take. All three are agreed before work starts. Most builds land between £1,200 and £2,200.
- Half the price is payable up front and half on delivery. Work begins once the first payment clears.
- Anything outside the written scope is quoted separately. It is not absorbed, and it does not silently change the price.
- Delivery includes written documentation covering how the thing works and how to run it.
Ownership and access
- Once the final payment clears, you own the software built for you and the data in it.
- It runs on accounts in your name wherever possible. You are not locked into me, and you can take it to another developer.
- I keep the right to reuse general techniques and non-specific components. I do not reuse anything particular to your business.
- Where I need access to your systems, the minimum necessary is requested, in writing, and it is given up when the work is finished.
Support
- Support is £59 a month, optional, covering hosting, monitoring and up to 45 minutes of changes a month. It is not included in the build price. Unused minutes do not roll over, and work beyond the 45 minutes is quoted first.
- Support requests are answered within 2 to 3 working days. I run this alongside other commitments, so same-day is not promised. Anything needing a faster guarantee is worth taking to a firm with cover, and I will say so rather than take the money.
- Without a support agreement, a build is delivered working and documented, and later changes are quoted as new work.
- Genuine faults in what I built are fixed at no charge for 30 days after delivery.
- Support can be cancelled by either of us with 30 days notice. Nothing stops working if you cancel, because it runs on your accounts.
Limits
- Software that uses an AI model can produce a wrong answer. Where that matters, the build includes a human check, and the audit report will say where that applies.
- Liability is limited to the fees paid for the piece of work in question. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
- I am a sole operator. If something takes longer than quoted, you are told early. The price does not change.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
